Army personnel in Kolkata pay floral tribute to slain soldiers on ‘Vijay Diwas’

The Army officials celebrated ‘Vijay Diwas’ at Eastern Command in Kolkata on Dec 16. They paid floral tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Indo-Pak 1971 war. ‘Vijay Diwas’ is celebrated to commemorate India’s victory in the 1971 war. The war was fought for liberation of Bangladesh. The war resulted in surrender of Pakistani Army and subsequent secession of East Pakistan into Bangladesh.
