Air pollution: Delhiites raise concern over health issues

The air quality of national capital once again started to deteriorate as winter approaches. Air quality continues to deteriorate in Delhi with rise of pollutants in the atmosphere. Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 405 in Anand Vihar, in 'severe' category as per Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) data. AQI is at 307 in ITO, in 'very poor' category as per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data. The AQI is in 'very poor' category at several locations in the national capital including Rohini, ITO and Dwarka on October 26. Delhi residents raised their concerns. Thick layer of smog enveloped ITO, AIIMS, JLN Stadium, Akshardham, India Gate and Sarai Kale Khan areas. Speaking to ANI, a local said, 'We are facing breathing issues and it is creating hurdle in our cycling.' Delhi Government has launched a campaigns 'Yudh Pradushan ke Virudh' and 'Red Light On, Gaadi Off' to combat the problems of air pollution.
