Supreme Court has rejected review petition of Akshay Kumar Singh, one of the convicts in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case on Dec 18. Now, he will file a mercy petition before the President of India and seeks three weeks time to file it, according to his lawyer AP Singh. "We have requested for the mercy petition and no death warrant can be issued in this time. Even Solicitor General said that we have 7 days and no one can deny it. Even it is said in the Constitution that after the rejection of review petition, petitioner can put mercy petition," said lawyer Singh.
