130 cured out of 139 positive Monkey Fever cases in Shivamogga: Deputy Commissioner

As the country continues to fight with coronavirus, state of Karnataka is dealing with another disease named Kyasanur Forest Disease, also known as Monkey Fever. Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga informed that the disease was also contained, 130 were cured out of 139 registered cases. “This year we were able to successfully contain Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) in Shivamogga district, Karnataka. We had only 139 cases of which we cured over 130 cases. We had 1 death due to KFD and test results of 2 deaths are awaited,” said Shivamogga Dy Commissioner, KB Sivakumar.
