Priyanka Gandhi on Friday shared a stage with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and began Uttar Pradesh assembly election's campaign by attending the first election rally at Rae Bareli.
Senior Congress leader Akhilesh Singh's daughter Aditi Singh is contesting from this seat in the upcoming assembly polls, traditionally represented by Sonia Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.
Amethi and Rae Bareli will vote in the 4th and 5th phases of polling on February 23 and February 27, respectively.
Congress will be contesting on 105 seats in the state with ally Samajwadi Party contesting from 298 out of a total of 403 seats.
"Priyanka Gandhi has always been a big support for Congress. Her presence makes a difference. Supporters and commoners like it when any big leader comes out in support of the party. I wish her all the best from the Samajwadi Party and hope that she wins more number of seats," said Samajwadi Party leader Juhi Singh.
Priyanka Gandhi played a key role in sewing the seat-sharing alliance of the two parties, according to which the Samajwadi Party and the Congress have fielded 298 and 105 candidates in the state, respectively.

Rahul said the PM had promised to change Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, in 2014, and asked the media to show what has happened there. Additionally, he said the rail factory has been put on hold in Rae Bareli, the Lok Sabha constituency of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, PTI reported.
Gandhi asked the prime minister where are the promised 'acchey din, PTI reported.
Demonetization has hugely affected small businesses, businessmen and farmers, Gandhi said.
Continuing his attack on the Modi, Gandhi said that the PM snatched 'Made in Raebareli' from its people.
Gandhi said that the prime minister remembers farmers only at the time of elections.
Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of unfulfillment of promises saying what happened to forgoing farmers' debts, cleaning up of Ganga, establishing the Bhojpuri film city.
