Zee TV, India's first private channel completed 25 years on Monday.
On this day in 1992, Dr Subhash Chandra revolutionised the nascent cable TV industry with launch of country's first Hindi language private entertainment channel.
Programmes like Tara, Zee Antakshari and Zee Horror Show made the channel a household name.
Today, Zee has a billion-strong viewer community spread in over 170 countries.
To mark the occasion, Zee TV founder Dr Chandra took to Twitter to recall the journey.
In a series of tweets, he said that the channel not only provides employment to 50 lakh people but it has also given a direction to this nation.
