LUCKNOW: Activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Thursday staged a protest here, demanding effective measures to check growing incidents of terror strikes and deportation of "illegal" migrants from Bangladesh.

The agitators also submitted to memorandum to Governor T V Rajeswar through the district authorities, demanding deportation of about 50,000 Bangladeshis residing "illegally" in state capital.

Led by BJYM state unit incharge Dayashankar Singh and Pankaj Singh, son of BJP President Rajnath Singh, the activists proceeded to the Raj Bhawan, but they were stopped by the police.

Pankaj said a close monitoring of the local network of fundamentalists was essential as it was impossible for ultras to strike without help in the local area.
