Yagnas performed for Dasmunsi's recovery
As the condition of I&B Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi continues to be critical, his family members performed Yagnas praying for his recovery.
RAIGANJ (WB): As the condition of Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi continues to be critical at the AIIMS in Delhi, his family members back at Raiganj in South Dinajpur district performed Yagnas praying for his recovery.
The yagnas were being held at different places in the town since Monday night immediately after the news of minister's illness came in. The 'Chandi Sastyan' yagna was attended by noted personalities of the area and several thousands of his well-wishers.
Yagnas were also performed at a temple at Kaliaganj in North Dinajpur district where the minister has another house. His brothers took active part in organising the yagnas. Prayers were held at mosques and churches as well in the Harirampur-Gangarampur belt in South Dinajpur district.
Dasmunsi, 62, was admitted to AIIMS on Monday with complete left ventricular failure of the heart.
He was treated for acute coronary syndrome in a private hospital in Kolkata in July and had undergone a primary angioplasty.
