After a major reshuffle in the Modi Cabinet, many new faces have been inducted in the team with some old faces paving the way for a younger generation to lead from the front. This has now apparently resulted in some bitter war of words amongst West Bengal BJP leaders.

A day after Asansol BJP MP Babul Supriyo took to Facebook and wrote, "Asked to resign as the Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change," West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said that of the 12 ministers who resigned, only he (Supriyo) made such remarks. Ghosh added, "If he were to be fired instead, would that have made things any better?"

However, soon as an afterthought, he edited his post and wrote, "I have resigned from the council of ministers."

Taking a note of his earlier statement, Dilip Ghosh said, "They asked for his (Supriyo's) resignation so that someone else can take up the responsibility. That is how a party functions; you need to have faith in the due process. If he were to be fired instead, would that have made things any better?"

Dilip Ghosh said that of the 12 ministers who resigned, no one else had made such a remark about the party.

It is interesting to note that differences between Babul Supriyo and Dilip Ghosh have come out in the open several times earlier.

Just a day before his resignation, however, Babul Supriyo was present at an event in which his ministry signed a joint communication with the ministry of tribal affairs.
