Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs released a new rendition of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajan sung by artists from over 124 countries to pay a musical homage to the Father of the Nation.
Diplomatic missions across the world arranged LED projections at iconic locations to carry the message of Mahatma Gandhi to mark the celebrations of his 150th birth anniversary. Over 120 locations in as many countries came alive via LED projections, including 50 iconic locations such as Piccadilly Circus in London, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Welt Museum in Vienna, Buda Castle in Budapest, Palazzo Senatorio in Rome, Prambanan Temple in Indonesia, and Museo de Arte in Peru to depict key moments taken from Gandhiji's life.
They included his inspiring quotes, everyday sayings, discourses and initiatives presented in spectacular visual narrative using the line-art style of hand drawn illustrations layered with water colour and ink wash that symbolise and represent the simplicity that was Gandhi's life and his teachings.
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs released a new rendition of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite bhajan sung by artists from over 124 countries to pay a musical homage to the Father of the Nation. It was launched by PM Narendra Modi. From Armenia to Angola, Sri Lanka to Serbia, Iraq to Iceland, prominent local singers/groups have showcased their talent through the favourite hymn of the Mahatma. Amongst the star performers was President Baron Divavesi Waqa of Nauru.
