Judicial work in western Uttar Pradesh was today affected as lawyers boycotted district courts, protesting against the alleged killing of their colleague in a sub-district court premises earlier this month.
Lawyers were agitated over the "delay" in police action to nab those responsible for killing Narendra Verma on June 3 in the tehsil court at Mawana in Meerut. The call for the boycott was given by the Uttar Pradesh Bar Council.
Judicial work in several district courts, including Kanpur, Ghaziabad and Moradabad remained affected.
