Society cannot progress unless we give women their share as they comprise 50% of the population, vice-president Hamid Ansari said in Almora today, in the backdrop of government's efforts at enhancing the participation of women in decision-making.He also said that women should be involved in social work for the betterment of the society.Stressing on the need for education in the society, the vice-president expressed his worry about higher education because due to unavailability of teachers in places like the IITs.Speaking on the occasion, governor Margaret Alwa also exhorted people to come forward to save the Himalayas and prevent climate change.
