A newly-married woman was today set afire allegedly by her husband for dowry in Gyanpur area, police sources said.
Sangeeta Devi, 20, was set afire allegedly by her husband Amit, who was harassing her over demand of a gold chain in dowry, they said.
Sangeeta, who sustained 80% burn injuries, was rushed to the district hospital from where she has been referred to Varanasi in a serious condition, they said, adding the police was trying to nab her husband.
