“You have seen that CPM had done no development and now see what the TMC is doing. It is the same. Previously they used to work for an organisation and now they work for a particular person.

“I would like to congratulate all Congress workers who had fought through adverse situations. They got beaten up by the CPM and now by the TMC, but they never gave up. Don’t lose hope. Our government will be formed at the Centre and Congress will also fight to establish government here in Bengal as well,” he said at his first public meeting in Bengal ahead of the polls.
