Union Minister and veteran BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Sunday said that he wished Kashmiri Pandits could go back to Kashmir and live happily with everyone. Sunday marks the 30th year of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the valley. 'I wish to hear people chanting Ved Mantra's and reading Azans on the banks of Dal Lake. May everyone live happily in Kashmir,'' he said.

Singh also condemned some so-called activists of the contemporary society, highlighting that no one raised a word when the Kashmiri Pandits were forced to flee from the valley due to Islamist insurgency.

Where did the award return gang go when Kashmiri pandits were brutally attacked? No secular leader raised their voice then and no one took the matter to the UN mentioning it as a black day," the Union Minister said.

Speaking on Kapil Sibal who had claimed that it will be difficult for states to not implement the CAA once the law's constitutionality gets legitimised by the Supreme Court, Giriraj said, ''Kapil Sibal Sahab dared to speak the truth, which is a big thing. Now he is trying to manipulate his word. But truth always comes out of the mouth and cannot be changed.''

Giriraj further defended his parties decision to implement Citizenship Amendment Act in the country and said that no one had taken any permission before dividing India, he said, '' Jawaharlal Nehru  wanted to become Prime Minister and Jinnah wanted to make Pakistan a Muslim country so they did it and during the course, several Hindus were killed.''

Slamming Congress, Giriraj said that we are working towards rectifying the sins of Congress. They should stop speaking the language of Pakistan.

Targeting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal ahead of the assembly election, Giriraj said, ''Kejriwal says that minorities will ensure his win in 2020 election. Why is there no value of the votes cast by other people.''

To mark the 30th anniversary of the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, a group of people staged protest in Jammu. Protesters showed placards that read 'Holocaust Day' and 'Black Day in History of J&K'.

The community demands immediate resettlement of the Kashmiri Pandits as well as special care to look after their empowerment and economic rehabilitation. In addition to this, they also want the appointment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to take action against the people responsible for the exodus of the community.

During 1989-1990, several thousand Hindus were forced to flee the Kashmir valley as a result of being targeted by Islamist insurgents. Most of these Kashmiri Pandit families resettled in Delhi-NCR and Jammu, and have since demanded that the government ensures they can return to their native place.
