Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday said he would be happy to see Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi become the prime minister.
"I will very happy to see Rahul Gandhi step into my shoes," Singh said when asked about Rahul Gandhi's candidature for prime ministership.
Talking to reporters after the oath-taking ceremony of eight new ministers in his ministerial council at Rashtrapati Bhavan here, Singh said he had always believed that Rahul Gandhi had the qualities to lead the United Progressive Alliance.
