The Congress party on Friday released an audio clip allegedly of mining baron Janardhan Reddy in which he is trying to lure Basanagouda Daddala, its MLA from Raichur Rural, by offering him money and minister portfolio.

The development comes on the eve of the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government going for a floor test.

In an audio clip, Reddy is heard trying to woo the MLA to the BJP camp. "You don't worry, now don't take a step back. I will support you. I will arrange a meeting with the national president (Amit Shah) and you can speak to him one-to-one and we can take the next step. We will get you whatever post you want... what ever designation you want," Reddy allegedly told the Congress MLA.

Reddy also told the MLA that those who have listened to him earlier have become rich and got a great post." You should think of ourselves."

However, the Congress MLA refused to accept the offer saying, "The party has done so much for him and helped me contest the election. I cannot betray them. Although I have the utmost respect for you."

Reacting to the development, BJP Karnataka handle called it mimicry. He wrote: “Dear Congressis, Who is the mimicry artist you hired to perform Janardhan Reddy's voice? He has done a pretty good job. Kindly share his coordinates. We would want to know if he can do a voiceover of Siddu & DKS as well. May be even we can release an audio tape! Thanks :)”

Meanwhile, Prakash Javadekar said that the audio CD is one of the handiworks of Congress' dirty tricks department. "This is a fake CD."

The BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats, followed by the Congress with 78, JD(S) with 37 and three seats have gone to others in the 224-member Assembly where elections were held for 222 seats.

The majority mark is 112 seats and the post-poll alliance strength of the Congress-JD(S) combine, which claims to have 117 MLAs, has alleged foul play in the Governor inviting BJP to form the government.

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered a floor test in the Karnataka Assembly at 4 PM tomorrow, drastically slashing the 15-day window given by the Governor to BJP Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to prove majority.
