Whistle-blower Nadeem Saiyad rubbed Mushir Qureshi the wrong way

RTI activist Nadeem Saiyad had made several complaints against Mushir Qureshi, a builder from Juhapura before several authorities. These complaints had created great trouble for Qureshi's business. Due to this, he had developed enmity with Saiyad.

Qureshi was arrested by police on Sunday and was produced before the holiday court. The police had sought his custody for 14 days for further investigation. However, they were granted his custody only for three days.

According to sources from the police, Qureshi's interrogation has revealed that Saiyad had made several complaints against the former and his construction projects before various authorities.

Qureshi has stated before the police that he was very annoyed with Saiyad's interference in his project and his repeated complaints before the corporation and other concerned authorities.

However, things peaked when Saiyad named Qureshi and Kalu Gardan in the police car burning case. Saiyad had informed the police that the duo had played a key role in the attack on the police van. They were annoyed by this act of his and had decided to eliminate him.

Qureshi paid Gardan Rs5 lakh to get Saiyad killed and fled to Dubai on November 2. The investigation revealed that Qureshi had instructed Gardan to eliminate Saiyad only after he reached Dubai and to complete the work immediately after his arrival in Dubai.

On November 5, Nadeem Saiyed was hacked to death in broad daylight in Juhapura. On the basis of eyewitness' accounts, the crime branch learnt that a gang involved in cow slaughter was behind the murder. Two weeks later, the crime branch arrested seven people, including dreaded criminal Kalu Gardan for the murder Saiyed. Gardan had, during the interrogation, revealed Qureshi's involvement in the case.
