In an attempt to set the record straight, IndiGo President Aditya Gosh wrote to Union Minister AG Raju on Wednesday.

The DNA has accessed the letter that shows the IndiGo explained the incident scene by scene in the footage.

It maintained that the 'whistleblower' Montu Kalra, the staff who shot the video, was sacked because he 'instigated the incident and further provoked the customer by beginning to shoot the video.'

About Joby Thomas, the other staff who hackled the customer, Ghosh says that Thomas acted in his 'self-defence'. However, he added that the behaviour despite the provocation was uncalled for.

Ghosh says that 'we wish we would have acted differently', and says that it all happened because the staff acted in interest of the flier's safety to 'prevent a potential serious mishap'.
