Three people were killed and two others injured in a crude bomb blast on Tuesday at Bharatpur area of Murshidabad district of West Bengal.

According to sources, the three were killed while making crude bombs, which accidentally went off.

The dead - Basir Sheikh and Minar Sheikh and one unidentified person were rushed to the hospital, where they were declared dead. Two others are undergoing treatment at the hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Sources reveal that tension was brewing in the area between two factions of Trinamool Congress - one led by Manowar Sheikh and Saber Ali.

The deceased belonged to Manowar Sheikh's faction. Later, police rushed to the spot and recovered several hundred live crude bombs.

Central forces deployed in the district for the assembly polls have been rushed to the area to maintain the law and order situation.
