Recently, industrialist Mukesh Ambani's elder son, Akash Ambani, got engaged to childhood sweetheart Shloka Mehta.
While the news was one of the top trending stories for the next few days, it was Nita Ambani's heartfelt poem that overwhelmed one and all.
Describing how their friendship blossomed to love, Nita wrote
They went to Kindergarten to learn ABC,
Not knowing - que sera sera -
What their future would be
Gummy bears and jujubes,
Sparkle pops and jelly beans
Sweetened their lives,
From childhood through teens!
Till glasses of milk made way for cups of tea
And the Sky fell in love with sweet Chants of glee!
From ponytails and Barbies
From pranks and football
The years just blended
And, today they stand tall -
With their eyes full of love
With one single plea
Their hearts beat in rhythm
Singing, "Will you marry me?"
Today we bless them, and today we pray:
All through their lives, on each golden day,
May they always be there holding hands side by side
May Gods shower their blessings on this groom and his bride!
Last week Akash got engaged to Shloka, the daughter of Russell and Mona Mehta.
According to media reports, Akash proposed to Sholka on Saturday at a family gathering in Goa.
Akash and Shloka are alumni of Dhirubhai Ambani Internation School (DAIS) in Mumbai. The Ambanis and Mehtas, who own world's largest diamond trading company - Rosy Blue Diamonds - know each other very well.
"Mukesh and I have given very strong foundation to our kids and even larger wings to fly - they have the freedom to take decisions for themselves and of course, choose whom they would want to spend the rest of their lives with. Marrying the one you love is gratifying and heart-warming. I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts," said Neeta Ambani while confirming the news a week ago.
While Akash, along with sister Isha, is supposedly the brain behind Reliance Jio, Shloka is a Director of the Rosy Blue Foundation. She is also a co-founder of an organisation called ConnectFor. This organisation helps other NGOs get volunteers for their respective causes.
