According to a report in The New Indian Express, pictures or videos are not allowed inside the high-security zone. The Palace, which is guarded by armed police and is under CCTV surveillance, reportedly allows cameras inside the Durbar Hall only during Dasara after due permission from the Royal Family.

Noted film producer Sandeshswamy has told the daily that the news was shocking as he was not allowed to shoot his film Gowdaru inside the Palace. He added that even Rajinikanth's movie Linga was denied clearance to shoot inside the century-old Mysore Palace.
