Watch: BJP MP Poonamben Maadam falls into drain in Gujarat, admitted to hospital
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Jamnagar, Poonamben Maadam, on Monday fell into an open drain in Gujarat this morning.
BJP MP from Jamnagar Poonam Maadam was injured after she fell into a drain while meeting slum dwellers of Jalaram locality during a demolition drive by civic authorities on Monday.
According to reports, the MP was visiting a slum in her constituency of Jamnagar city, about 330 kilometres from the state capital of Gandhinagar.
41-year-old Madam fell into an 8-feet deep drain when a thin concrete crust covering it cracked under her feet and suffered a gash on her head.
Police said she was standing on the concrete sheet which was made to cover the drain while meeting people when it broke and she fell.
According to her doctor, S Maheshwari, the leader suffered a 4-inch deep gash on her head and has hurt her shoulder and foot.
