VELLORE (TN): The bailable warrant issued against Tamil actor Vijay, in a case relating to defaming advocates in his film Sivakasi, was cancelled by the Arcot Magistrate Court on Thursday.

Allowing Vijay's petition to cancel the warrant, Magistrate Gunasekaran, directed him to be present in the court on July 6.

A petition was filed against Vijay, comedian Baskar, Sivakasi film producer Rathinam and director Perarasu, alleging that the film portrayed advocates in a bad light.

A warrant had been issued against Vijay and others, for failing to appear in the court after receiving court notices. Vijay had filed a petition in the court seeking cancellation of the warrant.
