Cricketer Virender Sehwag and boxer Mary Kom are among the sporting stars who will run and promote a 'unity' marathon for the country's largest paramilitary force CRPF. The paramilitary force, which is celebrating 75 years of its raising this year, will conduct a half-marathon called 'Run for Unity' in the national capital region on October 12.

Apart from Sehwag and champion boxer Mary Kom, about three lakh personnel force would be getting in touch with a host of sportspersons and celebrities to take the track in solidarity with the trooper on ground and its martyrs.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), raised in 1939, is the lead combat unit for conducting anti-Naxal operations in the country apart from rendering a host of internal security tasks. CRPF chief Dilip Trivedi will announce the charter of the half-marathon on Tuesday.
