Viluppuram Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: Viluppuram parliamentary constituency went to polls on April 18 in the second phase of Lok Sabha election 2019. The polling in 38 out of 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu held in the second phase. DMK’s D Ravikumar and AIADMK's alliance partner PMK’s Vadivel Ravanan were the key candidates in the fray in 2019 polls.

AIADMK's S Rajendran was the sitting MP in Viluppuram, who defeated Dr K Muthaiyan of the DMK in 2014 with a margin of close to 2 lakh votes.
The two major parties in Tamil Nadu — AIADMK and DMK — entered into an alliance with a number of parties for the forthcoming elections.
AIADMK contesting the election in alliance with BJP, PMK, DMDK, Tamil Maanila Congress, Puthia Tamizagam, Puthia Needhi Katchi and NR Congress. Whereas DMK aligned with Congress, CPI(M), CPI, MDMK, VCK, IUML, KMDK and IJK.
Tamil Nadu has a total of 39 parliamentary constituencies where 7 of them including Sriperumbudur, Chidambaram, Rasipuram, Pollachi, Perambalur, Tenkasi, and Nagapattinam have been reserved for candidates representing scheduled caste community. However, no seat here has been reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
According to the 2011 census data, Viluppuram houses a total of 3,458,873 people out of which 1,741,000 are males. The district has an average literacy rate of 72%.

2014: S Rajendran of the AIADMK received 482704 votes and he defeated Dr K Muthaiyan of the DMK who only got 289337 votes.
2009: KM Anandan Kumar of the of AIADMK received 306826 votes. He defeated K Swamidurai of the VCK who only got 304029 votes.
Two national parties — Modi's BJP and Rahul Gandhi's Congress — in order to make further in-grounds in the state contested 2019 elections in alliance with two major parties of the state. The BJP entered into a tie-up with the AIADMK and contested on 5 seats while Congress fought polls in alliance with the DMK on 8 seats.
The state of Tamil Nadu has 39 parliamentary constituencies out of which seven are reserved for SCs (Sriperumbudur, Chidambaram, Rasipuram, Pollachi, Perambalur, Tenkasi, and Nagapattinam). However, no seat is reserved for Scheduled Tribes in the state.
In 2019, EC had cancelled the election in Vellore constituency after a large sum of cash was allegedly seized from a DMK candidate's office in Vellore, therefore, out of 39, polling took place in 38 Lok Sabha constituencies only.
