Gives environment protection message to new students.
First year students of the DAVV were in for a surprise on Wednesday when they found their vice-chancellor DP Singh arriving on a bicycle to the university for an induction programme of the new comers.
Singh, who has always endorsed using non-fuel vehicles inside the university campus not alone rode the bicycle to the Khandwa road campus of the university but was followed by his guards who escorted him in another bicycle.
“The vice chancellor came to attend the induction programme on bicycle as he wanted to convey the message of environment protection to the new students," said DAVV public information officer M S Parmar.
Around 8,000 students in undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph. D courses have been admitted in various departments of DAVV in the new academic session 2013- 2014.
"Pursuing higher education doesn't just mean preparing for employment, it means to find the internal divinity of one's self," said vice chancellor D P Singh adding, "Students should decide the goal of their life along with setting their career objectives".
DAVV conducted the induction programme of students after a delay of three months as the first semester of most courses started in July.
Sources claimed that the delay in holding the induction programme was on account of the lone leave of the vice chancellor during July-August.
