While the world is celebrating Valentine’s Day with flowers, chocolates and perfumes, the 42-year-old cycled all the way from Jharkhand to West Bengal in search of his missing wife.

Nayak, a resident of Musabani's Baligoda village, travelled across 65 villages to reach Bengal’s Kumrasol village to look for his wife Anita, a Times of India report said.

According to Nayak, his wife is mentally unstable and has difficulty in speaking. She had gone to her parents’ home to celebrate Makar Sankranti. However, when she didn’t return after two days, Nayak decided to file a police complaint. When he realised that cops were unable to help him, Nayak took things in his own hands. He repaired his old cycle and paddled for 25 km daily for 24 days to reach her parents’ home in the Bengal village.

Despite massive search, when Nayak couldn’t find his wife, he decided to approach a local paper for help. The daily published her photo, which was recognised by some locals, who had seen her in Kharagpur. Soon, the Kharagpur police contacted Musabani cops and thereby successfully ending Nayak’s quest.

Nayak, who works as a daily wage labourer and his wife were reunited on February 10 and they returned to their village a day later.
