Gandhi, who was earlier blamed by the opposition for not visiting Uttarakhand, visited the flood-hit state on Monday.
Accusing Congress party of playing politics over the Uttarakhand floods, Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Aggarwal on Thursday said the ruling party is looking for votes rather than providing relief to the victims.
"The Congress is taking everything lightly and the required foodstuff could not be catered to the victims as Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi did not gave the green signal to do so as he returned to work after a week," Aggarwal said.
Gandhi, who was earlier blamed by the opposition for not visiting Uttarakhand, visited the flood-hit state on Monday.
The Congress, however, rejected the criticism by the Samajwadi Party, saying that it was important to provide relief and rescue.
