Police guards at the district magistrate's office allegedly misbehaved and beat up a woman complainant.
The woman, Anarkali, aged around 50, had visited the district magistrate's office on Tuesday to complain against her husband, saying that he used to torture her.
As she reached office to meet district magistrate Sarika Mohan, the guards on duty, including some female constables, allegedly asked her to leave but when Anarkali resisted, she was allegedly thrashed and forcefully dumped in police jeep.
A purported video clip of the entire episode has gone viral on social media.
When contacted, the district magistrate said she was not aware of the incident, but promised action against the police guards after investigation.
