Sugandh Sagar, who stayed with the Jain Monk in Delhi, said in a statement that call girls used to visit him regularly. “He used to order for bringing top call girls from the market by paying hefty sums. They used to stay in his room whole night and leave in the morning,” he said in a statement.
“I kept quite as it would have hurt the sentiments of the Jain Samaj. But now after his video with the missing girl, I can say for sure that he was behind the kidnapping of the girl. His relations with many girls and women are no more a secret,” alleged the Sugandh Sagar, who dubbed him as another Asaram Bapu.
Meanwhile, Jain Monks held meetings in Delhi and Ghaziabad and decided to ban entry of Nayan Sagar in 22 Jain temples in Delhi and Ghaziabad. They said that the boycott of the Jain Monk will continue till he comes out clean on sexual charges levelled against him.
After Hardwar Police, the Muzaffarnagar Police has also registered a case against the Jain Monk under Section 365 of the IPC on a complaint lodged by the missing girl’s father SK Jain, a resident of Khatauli area in the district.
The girl’s father claimed that she was using two SIM cards but both were switched off since July 28. “We lodged the FIR after failing to find her. After seeing the videos, there remains no doubt that Nayan Sagar was behind the kidnapping of my daughter,” alleged father.
The girl was doing her M.Tech from an engineering college in Hardwar and was also teaching there. She went missing since July 28 after two videos of June 23/24 in which she was seen with the Jain Monk in Vahelna Ashram in Hardwar got viral on the social media.
The Jain Monk, who is on a religious trip to Chandigarh, also issued a videotape and denied kidnapping charges against him. He said that it was done by his opponents to tarnish his image among members of the Jain Samaj. He alleged that a prominent Jain Monk was behind this and the two videos were released from Malaysia.
Sources in Vahelna Ashram claimed that the engineering girl student was a regular visitor to religious discourse of Nayan Maharaj. She had direct access to the Jain Monk. Interestingly, there are no details of a room booked for the girl at Vahelna Ashram on June 23/24 in the entry register.
Both the Hardwar and the Muzaffarnagar Police are treading cautiously due to the sensitive nature of the case involving a prominent monk of a minority community. “Our top priority is to trace and recover the girl safely. We will lay hands on the Jain monk only after collecting all pieces of evidence and record statement of the missing girl,” said a senior police official in Muzaffarnagar.
