Two preachers from the US, who are here for a church meeting, have tested positive for swine flu, the seventh such case in Meghalaya.

A total of three US preachers were admitted to the Shillong Civil Hospital on October 30 when they showed flu-like symptoms.

"We received the test report from NICED, Kolkata, last evening and it was found to be positive in case of two of the patients," state's health director KH Lakiang said today.

Nasal and throat swab samples of Gordon Drame (51) and Joshua Alvarez (38) have tested positive for swine flu while that of Steven Clarke (21) tested negative.

"They have been kept at isolation wards and necessary treatment given," Lakiang said, adding precautions have been taken to ensure that the virus does not spread.

The preachers came to the city to attend a church meeting of the Church of Jesus Christ and were admitted to the hospital after they developed swine-flu like symptoms.

Meghalaya has recorded six positive cases of swine flu. All have been treated and discharged from hospital.
