Alleging corruption in the implementation of NREGS in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP today said the state government has failed to act against its officials.

"Corruption in NREGS is known to all as at several places machines were being used instead of labourers and though the government has made CDOs accountable for irregularities in NREGS no action has been taken against any official till date," BJP spokesman H N Dixit said.

Despite making senior officials in the administration responsible for different tasks and warning them of stern action against any laxity, the state government has not taken any of them to task, Dixit said.

The BJP leader also held the government responsible for growing crime in UP and said under such circumstances there is little hope that things would improve in the state.
