Taking serious note of the incident, Dinesh Tripathi, the Superintendent of Police (SP) City Shahjahanpur, has suspended a police inspector and constable for the act.

While the incident is five-day-old, it came to light late on Monday night after the video went viral on social media. According to sources, the man, identified only as Bhure (36), was stopped by cow vigilantes in Bilandpur village after he was suspected of carrying cow meat in his jute bag. After they discovered it was beef packets, he was assaulted and handed over to the Nigohi police. That is when the police decided to humiliate the man which was captured by villagers on their phones.
