ETAWAH: The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) of regional parties would not support the candidates fielded by UPA and NDA for the Presidential election, Alliance leader and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said on Friday.

A formal announcement in this regard would be made after the UNPA meeting slated for June 30, Yadav, who was here to take part in a function organised by a local newspaper, said.

He said UNPA had proposed the re-election of A P J Abdul Kalam for his contribution to the country but it failed to find favour with some political parties.
