CHENNAI: Unclaimed baggages at the city-based international and domestic airports kept the security officials and public on tenterhooks for about eight hours on Friday.
    
The first unclaimed suitcase was found at the arrival terminal of the international airport here at two am, which was examined and confiscated by Bureau of Civil Aviation officials, airport sources said.
   
Another suitcase was found outside the terminal at the airport while a cardboard box which reportedly contained vegetables was found inside the departure area, they said.
   
The adjacent Kamraj domestic airport also witnessed some anxious moments when a handbag was found lying outside the administrative office there.
   
The officials searched and confiscated all the bags and the cardboard box, sources added.
