Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena Bhavan at Dadar, Mumbai, Thackeray said that if there is an attempt to make judiciary 'dumb and deaf' then it is nothing but attack on sovereignty of the country. Referring to Justice Loya's death Thackeray said, "If someone feels that the death is suspicious and approaches the court for inquiry, there is a need for impartial inquiry so that truth can be brought out. There is a need for bringing out truth in Justice Loya's death and if nothing is unfair in this matter, then why one should worry about instituting inquiry?'

Referring to joint press conference by the four justices, Thackeray said that these justices should be hailed for their act.
