Two pilots were killed after a trainer aircraft crashed in Vikarabad district of Telangana on Sunday. The incident took place in Sultanpur village of the district after taking off from the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad.

Pictures from the crash site showed aircraft debris lying in a field. 

The aircraft reportedly lost contact with the Begumpet station around 11.55 am.

While one person was identified as Prakash Vishal, a trainee pilot, the identity of the other victim was not yet known. 

Sources said the aircraft's engine failed and it crashed due to heavy rain and winds.

The flight went off from Begumpet airport in Hyderabad and was in the air for 45 mins before the mishap happened. The pilots tried to land the flight safely for 10 mins but failed to do so.
