The two Jadavpur University students who were arrested in connection with the molestation case of a female student of the university was granted bail on Monday late evening. Since the two named in the complaint filed by the victim, were booked under bailable sections, they were granted bail.

Based on the complaint, the police arrested two of the three against whom the victim levelled allegations of molestation. "We have arrested two students of the university - Gourab Masanta, a 3rd year student and Ritamoy Jana, a 4th year student," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Suburban Division), Santosh Pandey.

According to the complainant, she was allegedly molested by three students of the same university on Friday night after she refused to get her bags checked at the entrance gate of the fest organised by FETSU.

On Saturday, the victim filed a complaint against three students of the university. However students affiliated to the FETSU union of the university ruled out the victim's allegation.
