Two doctors were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from Daddanpura village in Bihar's
Samastipur district last night, superintendent of police Ajitabh Kumar said.

The gunmen stopped Dr AK Sahay, orthopaedic surgeon and Dr Santosh Kumar Sahni, a local physician, near the village when they were going to Muzaffarpur on a motorcycle, Kumar said.

The gunmen numbering around three later took them away to an unknown place, he said. An operation has been launched to rescue the kidnapped doctors, the SP said.

A dispute over a plot of land at Samastipur was suspected to be the reason for their abduction, he added.
