Two Bangladeshis, one of them allegedly involved in several terror-related cases in that country, have been arrested in the city, police said today.

The two arrested yesterday by the city police have been identified as Mehboob, allegedly involved in at least seven terror cases in Bangladesh, and Muneer. Both of them are aged 24 years.

The two were caught from near a hotel in south Delhi's Nizamuddin locality allegedly with illegal firearms, following investigations into an input about their presence in the area, a senior police official said.

Mehboob was arrested in Bangladesh earlier, sources said. He was an associate of one Ismail, who was allegedly involved in terror-related cases there, he said, adding the latter was killed in an encounter in the neighbouring country.

Muneer was arrested in the capital in 2004 for his alleged involvement in the robbery-cum-murder of a senior citizen in Rajendra Nagar.
