A truck driver from Punjab was arrested with 340kg of Fuki, a powdery substance used as a narcotic drug, in Pulwama district of South Kashmir today, a police spokesman said.

Mandeep Singh, a resident of Pamondi village of Jalandhar, was arrested after police recovered 170 polythene bags packed with Fuki at Pulwama, 32km from here, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, in its ongoing drive against cultivation of illegal crops, special police teams destroyed Bhung crops spread over 15 hectares of land at Larkipora, Padgampora and Gragund-Kulpora villages in Pulwama.

However, no one was arrested during the operation.
