Jamshedpur, Apr 27 (PT) Train services on Howrah- Mumbai route was disrupted for nearly an hour today after local people put up blockade at Adityapur station in protest against water crisis in the area for several days, officials said.

A large number of people including women squatted on the track in the station under Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway (SER).

Due to the blockade, trains like Howrah-Barbil Jansatabdi Express, Ranchi-Howrah Intercity Express, Rajendranagar-Durg Express.

Train services resumed only after senior railway officers assured the agitators that alternative arrangements would be made to supply water to them, officials said.

The protesters alleged that they have been facing acute water crisis for several days but no action was taken.
