The Central Railway (CR) will soon take up doubling of lines on five busy routes, including Pune-Daund and Manmad-Daund, an official said today.    Besides the two, the tracks on Daund-Kurdwadi, Manmad- Pune and Kurdwadi-Pune sections will also be doubled, CR general manger Kulbhushan said.    The proposal is under process at the highest level and work was yet to be allotted, but it would be taken up soon, he said at a press conference here.    Besides, electrification of the some of the routes will also be taken up, he said.    The electrification proposals are dealt at Railway Board level and priority is given after studying the traffic and its growth, the officer said.    Kulbhushan, who is holding additional charge of Western Railway, said a proposal is being sent for laying a third line between Nagpur and Wardha.    This will enable faster movement of passenger and goods traffic on the busy north-south grand trunk route, he said.    About electric locomotive shed at Ajni near here, Kulbhushan said a proposal to increase its strength from 120 locos to 175 locos (units) had been sanctioned and the work would soon commence.    Work on a new coaching complex at Ajni was underway and Rs3.5 crore has been sanctioned for it, Kulbhushan, who inspected the site, said.
