A top Hizbul Mujahideen militant, who was involved in several attacks on security forces, was killed in a gunbattle with army in Jammu & Kashmir's Doda district today.Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in Gandoh forest belt, Rashtriya Rifles troops launched a search operation in the area, DIG (Doda-Kishtwar Range) Maneesh Sinha said.During the searches, a gunfight erupted in which the top-ranking Pak-trained militant identified as Gulam Nabi was killed, he said.Nabi was a self-styled deputy divisional commander of Hizb for Chinab division and was involved in militancy since 1994, the DIG said.He was involved in a number of attacks on security forces, the police officer said.
