Toddler slips from mother's arms, dies in Kochi

A 15-month-old toddler died after she slipped from the arms of her mother while riding an escalator in a mall here, police said on Monday.

The baby girl and her relatives are from Mallappuram and were on a visit to Lulu mall here yesterday. The mishap occurred when the child was in the arms of her mother who was taking an escalator to the second floor.

The baby, Zoya Fathima, suffered severe head injuries in the accident. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and then taken to Amrita hospital where she was declared brought dead.
