After a gap of two days, the bike rally – Sankalp Pratirodh Abhiyan – organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) resumed on Monday from Shimla Street, near the residence of Swami Vivekananda and at some points of the route there were some minor clashes between TMC and BJP supporters.

At the starting point, the special court observer along with BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha had been waiting since 10 am when the rally was supposed to officially begin, but owing to the delay in the arrival of state BJP president Dilip Ghosh, it was flagged off at 10.45 am, leaving the court observer visibly disturbed.

As the rally headed towards Muraripukur area, TMC workers allegedly foul-mouthed BJP participants at the tail end, leading to a verbal duel. A quick police intervention solved the problem there and then.

"We had deferred the rally in accordance to the court's order and had resumed today with the assurance that there will be adequate police protection but we are not convinced that there will not be any attack because these TMC people dont have any respect for the court of the constitution," Ghosh said.

TMC leader and state education minister Partha Chatterjee alleged that there had been bikes brought in from other states. "We have information about bikes with registration numbers of Uttar Pradesh being brought in for the rally. We will take necessary action against that," he said.
