Tirumala should be made a world class shrine: K Rosaiah

Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah today applauded the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's (TTD) proposed online service for booking accommodation and "darshan" time at the holy place."Such a service will help pilgrims a lot and it should be made a role model scheme," he said.The online service named Sri Seva, which will take a year to become operational, will enable devotees to book accommodations and "darshan" time in advance.Rosaiah, who was apprised of the service in a meeting with TTD office bearers, suggested that a separate agency be to implement Sri Seva.He was informed that the service might take a year to be launched as a software has to be developed for it.Sri Seva will be first implemented for two months on an experimental basis. As part of the programme, the TTD will offer a wide variety of packages to the pilgrims.Officials explained that the packages will be formulated in a way to benefit every devotee.The chief minister was also informed about the decision to grant Rs8.2 lakh to Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham to perform a yagna at Sri Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu.
