People's anger over civic body's apathy in dealing with the issue of bad roads in their area led to an altercation in Indrapuri ward on Friday morning. A corporator of Bharatiya Janta Party, Sevantilal Patel, got involved in an argument and a fight ensued with the Congress workers in that area.

People said that the roads of Indrapuri ward were in need of attention for long. According to Kiran Prajapati, Patel did not allow the resurfacing of roads and demanded that they be widened first. He sent the contractors back every time they reached the spot with machines. This angered the people of the ward and it led to a fight, said Prajapati.

Sources stated that due to the scuffle, Patel had to take shelter in the nearby corporation office, and came out only after the police arrived. But, Patel had a different story to narrate. He blamed the Congress corporators. "When the contractor arrived for road resurfacing, I was present at the site. But some of the Congress workers opposed the resurfacing and hence, fought with me. They do not understand that road widening requires more budget and time," he said. He added that a police case has been filed against Prajapati. On the other hand, Prajapati denied knowledge of the case.
