The Congress on Friday said the party gave tickets to Ramesh Kumar and JP Agarwal for seats in the capital after consultation and keeping all aspects in mind.

"It was a considered decision. It was made after keeping all aspects in mind and consultations," party spokesman Ashwini Kumar told reporters, replying to queries on whether it was proper to give party ticket to the brother of Sajjan Kumar.

While Ramesh Kumar has been fielded by the party to replace his brother Sajjan Kumar in the South Delhi seat, Agarwal was given the party nomination in place of Jagdish Tytler.

Both Tytler and Sajjan Kumar were removed as party candidates after the shoe-throwing incident at the AICC headquarters and for their alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in the national capital.
